The Nurse Practitioners work alongside the Doctors in providing a comprehensive medical service, including surgeries which are by appointment only.

They are qualified to deal with minor illnesses and injuries and also offer advice on health promotion and  preventative medicine e.g. on-going contraception, HRT and menopause and are involved in the management and review of conditions such as asthma, COPD, diabetes and hypertension.

As Independent Prescribers, they are qualified to issue prescriptions in their own right.

Our experienced team of Practice Nurses provide a Treatment Room service by appointment only.

They are also available for general telephone advice between 12.45pm - 1.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Nursing services include:

  • Immunisation and vaccinations
  • Baby immunisations
  • Cervical smear tests
  • Ear syringing
  • General health advice
  • Travel advice and vaccinations including Yellow Fever
  • Routine injections (vitamins and hormones)

Health Visitors

The team of Health Visitors visit all families to provide advice and information on all aspects of health care.  They run Baby Clinics, Weaning, Baby Massage Classes, Sleep Clinics and Parents Tender Loving Care Groups.

They are involved in the assessment and development of the under fives and have access to a wide range of information and services that you may find useful.

District Nurses

The District Nurses provide professional nursing care to patients who are housebound.  Following assessment, they will prescribe the appropriate nursing care and treatments, obtain nursing equipment, liaise with other health care professionals and give support and advice to relatives and careers.

Their role includes health promotion, care of the chronically ill, wound and continence management, care of patients following early discharge from hospital, as well as palliative care and symptom management.

Community Midwives

The Midwives provide care and support for you and your family during pregnancy, childbirth and the early postnatal period.  They also run antenatal clinics, parentcraft classes and support groups and are available for women who wish to have their babies at home.


Practice staff

The Practice Manager, Nicola Tinsley, BA (HONS); PGDip HRM; is responsible for the general management of the Practice, other than in clinical matters

Our team of receptionists, supervised by Mrs Fran Roberts, Reception Manager, will do their best to help you with appointments, requests for home visits and repeat prescriptions, test results and information about the Practice.

Our Administration staff, including the medical secretaries and Admin and I.T. Manager, play an important role in day-to-day administrative tasks.
